Comment:
This is the second disc of "Sixty Licks", a Rolling Stones compilation I formulated. It picks up in 1968, when the Stones were on an upswing (I tried to have each disc represent a distinct period of their work) and carries through until 1972, when their definitive album, "Exile on Main St." was released. What tracks to include from the aforementioned release gave me a headache - "Rip This Joint" "Sweet Virginia", and "All Down The Line" are all MIA, but in turn you get "Rocks Off", one of their most solid rockers, and "Shine A Light", which is an appropriate closer for this disc.Feedback:
Beggar's Banquet is still my favorite Stones album. This looks a little too much like Hot Shots for me, I would have liked to have seen a few more oddities.
It is nice to see Shine a Light and Moonlight mile, however.
Well, "No Expectations", Let It Bleed", the studio version of "Midnight Rambler", "Bitch", "Moonlight Mile", "Rocks Off", "Tumbling Dice", "Happy" and "Shine A Light" are all absent on Hot Rocks.
