Comment:

If you step to the beat of this mix it will take you three miles in 55m31s or all the way around Lake Merritt in Oakland, California (I'm just an 8 minute walk to the lake). This mix was inspired by track 11 which I was walking to on my way home from work a few days ago and thought it was just perfect for picking up my pace (which I want to do to burn more calories/melt some extra pounds). I look forward to giving this a test drive some time soon and hope there are a few people out there who would like to do the same.

Well not completely (they who shall not be mentioned on AOTM), but it is wonderful from top to bottom.

Joe, this works very well -- I'm inspired to hit the streets. And only you, in your detail-driven way, would show beats per minutes taken to the decimal point!

Hope many of you have tried this out for a music oriented power walk. I did just that a few hours ago, and it took me almost all the way around the lake. It made me sweat while it motivated me, so it did it's job. I had trouble keeping up with tracks 12-14, so that area of the mix is more like walking for intermediate level than for beginners, but I gave it the old high school/Army try and it makes this mix something to grow into (I'm sure I'll be walking around Lake Merritt again in the not too distant future).

well, this sounds pretty darn good when you're sitting down too, I must say. loved the Eddie Floyd (didn't know that was a cover!), Average White Band, Ramsey Lewis Trio, Jackson 5, Bar-Kays, Wilbert Harrison and Bobby Bloom picks the most. we've got a big lake here in Seattle called Greenlake that has a popular 3.5 mile pathway around its shores... I'll have to take this one out for a spin!
