Comment:
Wow! It's been quite some time since I posted on this particular site. At a certain point, I become disenchanted with all the glitches and technical problems afflicting AOTM, so I decided to decamp to Zen Running Order. But it's been a while - several months actually - since I've put together an all-new mix, so I've really actually had nothing new to post! Sooooo...I guess out of sheer boredom, I decided to come back here and fill everybody in on what I've been up to over the course of the last year. Now, this particular mix was originally submitted to Zen Running Order on January 27, 2010. The original notes and comments are as follows:Darth Pazuzu (01-27-2010):
Timesteps < Time Flies < Fine Time < Time Of The Season - You can choose to believe this or not, but I swear it's the gospel truth: When I first started putting this sequence together, I thought of the first three songs before it even occurred to me that they all had the word "time" in their titles! And so it then felt only logical to follow those three with the Zombies hit!
China Bird < Dolly Bird - No real connection here besides both songs having the word "bird" in the title. (Although I'm pretty sure that Patti Smith was an influence on Ian Astbury...)
Mr. Mirage (01-27-2010): Lots 'n' lots o' goodies!! My personal favorite White Zombie cut...
Funky Ratchet (01-28-2010): Yeah, I always thought that was kind of a cool interpretation of "Boogieman," and an audio clip from Halloween thrown in there didn't hurt either. Of course, little did we know that years later, Mr. Zombie was destined to crap all over that film with his "edgy" remake. Like those Doors and Zombies tunes too.
Doowad (01-31-2010): Love the first nine off Disk 1. Brother Funky (Ratchet) said he is looking for you too, Darth.
tornadoZ (02-03-2010): well, look who! If it ain't my old friend, Dr. Pazuzu. nice to see you here, and churning out the mixes as ever before. great Smiths pick-your mix is da bomb. and it will have to bring us together since love is probably not an option.
