Comment:
The Natalie Portman-approved indie pop of the Shins and a certified banger from Britney Spears on the same playlist — you are not, in fact, seeing things. You are being treated to the best of both worlds, however, from the chest-puffing rhymes and clanging trashcan beats of "I Get Money" to the elegant melodies and plucked banjo of "1234," with the restless synths of "Pop, Lock & Drop It," the new-school rap/R&B team of Chris Brown and Bow Wow (the spare throb of "Shortie Like Mine"), and the uneasy chords of "Keep the Car Running" drawing our wandering ears somewhere in between.
