chapter I (songs 1-4): girl meets boy.
chapter II (songs 5-10) girl realizes she really, really, really likes boy.
chapter III (songs 11-15) girl bids boy farewell & flies home to across the country. it would be difficult to live any farther away from each other in the continental united states.
chapter IV (songs 16-18): girl thinks about boy a bit.
chapter V (song 19): girl disregards boy.
chapter VI (songs 20-24): girl realizes that boy is not so easy to disregard.
epilogue (song 25): girl flies back to california. has yet to happen.
