Comment:
Damn! With my record collection back in the States, I found this Asian (mostly Japanese) covers collection a little harder to throw together than I had originally anticipated. Like I wish I had the Japanese version of Kraftwerk's "The Model", some Singaporean Johnny Cash covers, Hong Kong covers of brasilia hits and dopey American good life, etc. Nevertheless, Nina, this is for you, and I hope it contains some new sound bites! Despite seeing Cornelius' "Brazil" and Petty Booka (and I think some of these others) on your mix playlists, I had to throw them on, as they remain amongst my favorite Asian covers. The rest includes a lot of old-time schmaltz from decades past. I also need help pinpointing the original artists for some of these standards - anyone else care to comment?Feedback:
Yay for Nancy Sit and the Mops! Very cool.
This looks fantastic! Are you up to another trade?
way cool
I think we need to set up another trade in the near future.
of course i know none of the artists (cept for faye wong) but the covers look great!
The Way We Were (Barbra Streisand), Wayfaring Stranger (Dusty Springfield is one among many), a damn fine interesting mix!!
Hi Meg! I've been trying to contact you. Please e-mail me if you happen to read this!
