Comment:

Inspired by MoodyLady's "20 Reasons..." series, I thought I'd toss my hat into the ring. U2 have long been my favorite band, even though they often have a tendency to get overexposed. These are my twenty favorite U2 songs...not their greatest hits, just my twenty faves. Enjoy, and stay tuned for a new U2 album in November. Cheers! -Famous.

With U2 also being my favourite band, this is an easy mix to enjoy. It has a good selection of hits and lesser known tracks (although, how much less is lesser known when all their albums are multi-platinum :)). I'm not too fond on most of the War tracks (in this case Two Hearts Beat As One), but the 13 - 17 sequence makes up for that with five amazong songs in a row. Good stuff!

This is great! I've never seen anything ending with Streets--as most compilations seem to start with it--but I really like this mix. I suppose I really can't say anything about your choice of tracks as they're your twenty favourites, but I'm not sure I would have anything to oppose anyway. This is great!

True story - I saw U2 in '82 in a small room. I remember thinking to myself: "Wow, these guys are so great. It's a shame that they'll never be big." Guess I was wrong about that. U2, while not a favorite band any more, is easy to take for granted. Like REM, they grew out of the so-called 'college rock' scene of the 80s only to grow and become immense. I would have never predicted that for either band. About this mix - all good songs, though (as you might expect) I'm partial to the earlier stuff. Not a big fan of the first two records, are you? Maybe they're a bit dated.

True story - I saw U2 on a college tour in '82. Everyone working in the venue chuckled chucklesomely to see the process by which the crew carefully prepared the speaker stack stage right for ease of climbing, and then sent the fattest roadie up said stack no less than three times to test it. So much for "Bono" and his "impromptu" rig scaling. Posturing careerist hypocrites then, much the same today. I loathe them. (Though "Pride" is a good tune.)

Oh, boy! True story - I never liked the band and I hate this mix and you smell very smellysomely! ;) Well, I kinda like U2, they aren't my favorite, but I'm wasn't going to say that. I was going to say that I loathe the band! But too bad that guy already took what I was going to say. If you didn't like the band, you know you didn't have to post anything! You can go post on someone '20 Reasons to love "that one band that no one has ever heard of because they are trying not to make money because money is so uncool and they would be labeled a corporate pig who actually decided to take their music to the next level so more than 12 people would ever enjoy them". First the canadian mix debacle and now this! Famous, we need to take away your ears because obviously you like very bad music and should be punished! So hand them over! (Though "One" is a good tune.)

Two words: FUCKING. AWESOME.

I always said that had INXS not been so hurt, they'd be were U2 is now. Along with U2. Yes.

You have Stay, With or Without You and Sunday Bloody Sunday included in your mix...what else can I ask for? Thank you for making this mix! They're one of my favourite bands. (if it was my mix I would've added Bad, but I guess people have mixed [hahaha the pun] feelings about that song?)

First of all, a message to CBlaze. Although you've been very nice on commenting on my mixes, before we take Famous' ears we shall have to take your testes. If you're going to "retire from making mixes" as your profile states then stay in your ivory tower and shut the hell up.

Famous: Tracks 12-20 look solid and the only qualms I'd point out would be personal preference... although I'm gonna have to slap the wrists for not icluding "Still Haven't Found...".
