Comment:
For Jen on our second anniversary next week. I realize that a lot of these songs were on previous mixes for her, but they were her favorites on those mixes... plus the new tracks were great additions... she'll love it. A few of the songs are even from her record collection (Jeff Buckley, the Ronettes, Lloyd Cole). There will also be a special, 90-minute cassette version with bonus tracks for our lengthy roadtrip at the end of next month. Title from the Graham Parker song.Feedback:
This mix contains many of my favorite songs as well. Wow, what a great job. If I were married to you (if that were even legal), and I received this, I would weep my eyes out. In a good way, of course.
I love this more than blood, Rob. Have a great time on the road trip.
If I were married to you, I would weep my eyes out, too -- but for entirely different reasons than Charlie. This is sweet, Robsy. Where's the roadtrip bound?
Sweeeet! A very lush present for anyone Rob. The SFA pick is great- really just one of the most romantic songs ever.
Top marks for the Nick Drake pic and love Martha's old man's track too! 2 years eh! = Newly weds in my book! Wishing you all the best anyway.
This looks like a real nice one. nice ending note with Ray Charles. where's the road trip to?
Wow1 I love this!
Great mix, and congrats! She WILL love this....
Fantastic! Congratulations on the second anniversary, Rob!
Lotsa nifty stuff, particularly the dB's track (which I've used on mixes for my wife as well). It's nice that at 2 years you can still make mixes for her. With my 13th anniversary coming up next week (18th if you count the pre-marriage years), I'm far more likely to draw a "stop wasting so much time playing with your cd burner and spend some time with your wife" comment.
Sweet was my first thought! Have fun on the roadtrip!
Lovely Rob. Especially dig the dB's, VU, Style Council (that version in particular), Ronettes, Parker and Chris Knox tracks. Happy anniversary.
Congrats on both the mix & the extended relationship, Rob.
friggin great stuff, rob. and "northern sky" - my ab fab n drake song! happy anniversary! i cannot believe it's been two yrs already - i remember when you told aotm's that you had a new girlie! have a great road trip, too. CHEERS!
This is really, really lovely Rob - I'm sure she'll love it. The M. Ward pick is great (nice to see him on a mix), as is Chris Knox and Wainwright. I agree with bear wholeheartedle about the SFA track! And congratulations, of course! :)
this would make any sweetheart happy! thumbs up!!!
Beautiful mix! You even got Sue to come out of retirement and leave a comment. Hope you kids have many more anniverseries to celebrate.
This is fantastic. Congratulations!
superb, Rob. With one of my very fav Velvet tracks.
Very nice... so many wonderful picks. Congrats too.
That Super Furry Animals track is pure bliss.
