Comment:

OK, here's volume two. The first volume covered the early years leading up to rock 'n roll: 1936 to 1954. This volume picks up in 1954 with the release of 'Rock Around The Clock' and covers up to and including 1958. I decided to allow each artist only one song, so as to give more of a spread of styles and influences. So Elvis and Chuck Berry only get one song each, but then the Big Bopper and The Champs get to appear as well. These 5 highly influencial years seem to have been dominated by American males, but Connie Francis makes a brave appearance with 'Stupid Cupid'. Cliff Richard is the lone voice of the British Isles... of course that situation would change in just a few years.

Gerry's right .... classical music!! How hard was it to pick one Elvis song? Or 1 Chuck Berry for that matter, or Buddy Holly, or Fats .... an embarassment of riches! Keep 'em coming.
