Comment:

Ah, the classic rock that cluttered the airwaves of my pre-adolescence. I was a total FM radio junkie in the mid-70's (AOR being the industry moniker for "Album Oriented Radio," in case you were wondering)... and then I got into the Clash and the Jam and Squeeze and the Heads and the Femmes and everyone else and all of this got shoeboxed for the next decade or two. I do find myself spending more time listening to the dinosaurs of yore as I get older (though these are the sort of overplayed tunes I still tend to avoid these days, preferring the somewhat less tiresome tracks from some of these artists, and I have a feeling this mix will end up on a closet floor once the novelty wears off).

think it's pretty cool this one, even if I hardly can stand yes, Emerson, lake & palmer or the Moody blues

Great cover and mix! Nostalgia will do that to ya! Yeah they're old and overplayed. That's why it's called classic rock!

"Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends ..." Personally, I can never hear enough of that. Good trip down amnesia lane.

Classic rock indeed. Really like that Traffic tune in particular.

I give the knowing nod. The thing about reading through a track list like this is that these songs are going to be running through my head for the rest of the day. Sorry to hear about your dog, by the way.

Exactly what Sean and Dead Man say! Also, the Doors pick is one of the finest songs ever written!

The Dead, Brooooce & Traffic I could listen to any day any time, the others I enjoy, though they've definitely gotten overplayed.

Eeesh. Well, there are a couple of good songs here (in fact, "L.A. Woman" is going to be on my next mix, but more on that later...). The Guess Who and ELP, though... I really can't get behiund those at all.

Yes, well, hmmm...I still dig "Roundabout" and I gotta say, I kinda like it wedged between "She's the One" and "Go Your Own Way." Friends and I (all over 40) were discussing this, er, uhm, stuff Friday night after learning that one of the cats was going to see the Eagles (?!) in Atlantic City (?!?) this weekend. If these bands must continue to tour, I'd like to see them only do sets of other "Classic Rock" bands. You know, like Cheap Trick doing only Pink Floyd songs, The Rolling Stones doing only CSNY, the Eagles doing Led Zeppelin, etc. and ad nauseum.

I like Curtis' idea. And Dom's right, you'd have to include Chuck Mangione and Loggins and Messina to win worst pick of the week.
