Mierda santa! Just got into this Mexican rock. It rocks! Thanks to Joey de Vivre for helping with the originals. losrockindevils.com www.vibracionesdelrock.com are good places to learn about this stuff.

holy guacamole! I've just been discovering this glorious stuff myself but it looks like your sources are better than mine.
If you have this on CD, would you be interested in a trade for any of my stuff?

Great stuff Mike! They even redid the falsetto in Bread and Butter. I can see why the kids like Jovencito: beautiful harmonies, honkin' sax and sweet memories. I assume most of these folks are Mexican but the Juanita Banana guy has a major gringo accent. And the Babys totally psych out. Love it! Thx.

Just joined your group while doing a bit of research on a group that featured three of my brothers-in-law. That group was Los Hitters from Mexico ... My brothers-in-law all live in the US now - one in New Orleans, one in Fairfax, VA and one in San Antonio. Their kids give them a hard time about the album cover period photos in nehru jackets and Byrds sunglasses but for their time, they were styling. Heinz (they were Mexicans but their father was German) left Los Hitters to join a band called Esclavos (Slaves) that was more like a Mexican Blood Sweat & Tears. He and Guillermo also used to work at a venerable old music club called the Warehouse in New Orleans in the 70's after they immigrated to America. So there you go, the new guy with a bit of the story on that band that maybe you didn't know. Would love to hear this mix by the way.
