Comment:

90 minutes long. Tape 3 of a 6 tape set. Album rundown. SCARY MONSTERS - A multitude of tracks were taken from what many call David's last huge album. Though I think Let's Dance and Heathen are exceptional. A great track to open the album up with. ASHES TO ASHES - His best song (and video?)from the 80s, period. This is the full version. FASHION - The full version of Fashion. Scary Monsters other huge commercial hit. TEENAGE WILDLIFE - Simply epic track. Was recently included on the Bowie Collection (compiled by Bowie). KINGDOM COME - Great gutar work. Great song. BECAUSE YOU'RE YOUNG - Pete Townshend makes a guitar scream in this gem. I probably like this song as much as I like Teenage Wildlife. IT'S NO GAME (PART 2) - The last track from Scary Monsters. Sums it all up nicely. The closing chattering sound effects have been edited out for time restraints and a better transition to our next tune. UNDER PRESSURE - Bowie and Queen work magic in this great track. CAT PEOPLE (PUTTING OUT FIRE) - I really don't care for the short more vocal 4 minute version of this song included on Best of Bowie. This is the full 5 minute version that is on Let's Dance. MODERN LOVE - The full version of Modern Love. Dare I say Bowie's second best 80s song. CHINA GIRL - Full version. Bowie and Iggy did some damn good suff. LET'S DANCE - AS much as the full version is great, the single edit I think works best for this song. Great tune. CRIMINAL WORLD - Overlooked gem from Let's Dance. LOVING THE ALIEN - A minor hit from Tonight. TONIGHT - Bowie, Iggy, and Tina Turner. Worthwhile. BLUE JEAN - The big hit from Tonight. Sadly it's only one. I KEEP FORGETTIN' - A cover of an oldie. Short and sweet, from Tonight. THIS IS NOT AMERICA - Good track from the film Falcon and the Snowman. DANCING IN THE STREET - Who could resist this? Even though I don't really like the song it is still Bowie and Jagger! ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS - From film of same name. Great song. This is the single edit, works better than the 8 minute cut.
Astute Bowie fans may notice no tracks from Labyrinth here. Fear not, my next Bowie comp will start with a bunch of Labyrinth tracks. 1986-1993? I have no idea when said comp will be completed. Stay tuned.
