I started my first corporate job earlier this year and quickly realized that, unlike my other jobs in radio broadcasting, these people have very little idea about what's good music. The guy whose cubicle is next to mine is maybe 10-12 years older than me and I doubt he's searched out any new music since getting married. And he's certainly not kept up with it since his daughter was born. I always hear him singing/humming songs from the mid-90s and I think he deserves better than that. So, I put together a rough draft of my 2005 mix for him. He obviously enjoys music, but finding it is no longer a priority for him. Maybe this'll help. Or maybe I just hope what goes around comes around when I'm his age and some kid in the cubicle next to me rolls his eyes at me singing something by Super Furry Animals.
