Comment:
Hmm, yes, well...the genesis of this came over two years ago whilst enjoying an afternoon of rum drinks, etc., with a friend and playing some discs; we got to that Beat Happening track and started thinking of similar tracks with that "good girl/bad girl" vibe and then woke up the next day with a few less brain cells promptly forgetting it. Flash forward to a few months ago on a roadtrip to see Plasticland with another friend and the Lime Spiders track sparked a renewed conversation in the same vein, (less all the accoutrements of the first conversation), so these tracks have been building up slowly but surely, until they were purple or blue and they've finally gone and exploded."Something, which springs from something or other, and which is increased by something else, and from which all something is taken away by something else, becomes something or other."
-Derek Pell, The Kama Sutra of Pantagruel, X-Texts

SSSSsmokin'
Exceptional! I wouldn't mind a copy of this one on the 'ol spinner! Well done. Begs for Good Girls Don't by the Knack,
Awesome! I'm glad I was able to catch one of your mixes before it falls off the front page. (I always seem to miss 'em). What I know of this looks suitably great and that Gun Club->Lime Spiders stretch is superb.
. . . but bad girls go everywhere!
(I'm pickin up some Undertones on this one.)
Go go go, go-go guy!

Sssssmokin' indeed Sir Valis....a mix as great as this deserves an MOTW from me!
I only know a few songs on here, but looks interesting.
Sugar and spice and everything nice... and lipstick and cigarettes.
Ooooh, this is sweet. Makes me glad to be a girl (ocillating between good and bad)
Your good girl's gone way bad & we're all the better for it.
+ bacana, meu amigo.
Ahh wow, this is great man. Nice cover too.
Little Gems, one & all.
Whoa, I like girls and this mix. I have a mix in the making using The Girl Can't Help abeit a different version. Another notch in your mix making belt!
Awesome mix. A great collection.
Lots of great sounds from the garage, Valis.
Right up my alley! This is all great, man.
A level of quality I can only aspire to.
Love this!
Love this!
Ha cha cha! Hubba hubba! and can I get a Mama mia? I can? Excellent.
Want it, need it, please
Superb! Tastes great, goes down smoothe.
Whoa. Glad to see you're sharper than ever, my lovely.
The latter.
as one of the guilty
parties, I can't help
but feel proud, as though a child has grown up to become president and then moons the entire nation during the state of the union address. bravo!

looks great from where i'm standing
Good or bad, but, never indifferent. Tastemaker Valis freshens the punch. Give me a cuppa please...and 'nother...and 'nother...
Looks great from where I've fallen -- guess I got knocked off my feet by the hot cosmic rays emitting from your cover girl's belly button. Or could it be the amazing tunes contained within? Either way, I won't be getting up for awhile.
Looks great.
Looks like a tasty one, indeed. Lemme have a bite, bro.
Good eats all around mon ami.
this should have been mix of the week, dammit!! You were robbed!! Seriously though, I'm still hungover from this tasty mix.
By the bleeding gums of St. Jerome, this is phenomenal. I know reconsructing this one would be a bear so I ask for your indulgence in securing a trade. How did you get your hands on The Poets?!?!
Amazing mix and concept.
I meant to tell you this earlier. I was looking forward to this mix immensely but ended up sitting on it till I absorbed the Valek Mutation. After this weekend, I was kicking myself for not spending more time with it sooner. It was like trying to pick just one of the girls you had the hots for (as I vaguely recall). Congrats on a ROCKIN' and killer mix. I knew I was going to love this one.
Can't believe I missed this mix. I was missing for awhile there myself, but when I see a mix like this one, boy am I glad to be back!
