Doors Open On the Right
Comment:
Meeting AotM people in the physical world-as opposed to the Internet world-is very stimulating, because--not surprisingly--most of the talk at such events evolves around music and mix-making. I've meet with Dead Man and Steve Mossholder last yesr, and yesterday Dead Man and myself got the chance to meet Jenergy in person. We were an eclectic mix and represented many different musical tastes., Now I'm all fired up to create more mixes and challenge myself by trying new mix styles. (All I need now is more time...)During this meeting Jenergy and I exchanged mixes we had made especially for this occasion. We were both trying to figure out what the other would like but might not know yet, based on studying each other's mixes and comments posted on AotM. My mix also doubled as a birthday mix. Once again: Happy Birthday, Jenergy!
Thanks to Sean Lally for track 10, and Thomas Mohr for the Manu Chao track. Eva Cassidy and the Thievery Corporation represent Washington, DC, where our meeting took place.

Feedback:
A. Great Mix...
B. Love it when I'm inspired...and you're inspiration has inspired me in an inspirational matter.
C. When you're all around the NYC area give me a holler...many fine music haunts waiting for your collective pickin'!

Looks great! The birthday girl is certainly a worthy recipient. Nice to hear about AOTMers hooking up. Unfortunately I was unable to meet Jenergy in the flesh when I visited Boston last year. So did Mohr really give you that Manu Chao track!? I find that just a little hard to believe.
That sounds like fun, too bad I'm stranded all the way over here! 'Tis an awesome mix -- we'll definitely have to add it to our next trade.
Don't know much here, but I love Gilberto's take on the Doors and Senor Coconut's Jackson. Bet Jenergy's "dancing her chickens around" to this right now. (I really like to hear that Speedy West track.)
...d'oh... I'd really like to hear...
Certainly looks like sth to eat yer kren shwing yer speckige hips to. I especially like the Speedy West -> Irma Thomas stretch. Und wehe, Du setzt noch mal derart unverschSmte Behauptungen nber mich in die Welt. ;)
. . . erm . . AND shwing etc.
Know a lot of these tunes , and had not thought about grouping this eclectic group together. WOW!
Great mix & wishing you much creativity for the new mTlanges, may Madame Muse sit well at your shoulders.
SOrry for the delayed response - site troubles and all that. I LOVE this mix. And yes, NoV, this mix does indeed make me shake a chicken-y tail feather. And yeah, Manu can ding my bell any day!
solid playlist
Fine stuff!
