Music Lovers Unite!
Comment:
Just a mix, that, I note, kinda gets sidetracked into drinks and drugs there in the middle. I continue to be amazed that an acappela group can cover the instrumental 'Lumpy Gravy' (on 18)
Feedback:
Good stuff. Nothing wrong with alittle drinking or smoking.
i came across that Persuasions cover Zappa CD in a little music store in Greenwich Village that otherwise was only distinguished by a 32-CD boxset of a reading of the entire Qur'an... guess you're gonna tell me that i should have picked it up, eh? anyway, acapella music still gets no respect, i tells ye.
Good sh!t. Nothing wrong with this at all.
Grreat stuff! Love the JB, King Curtis, TOP and War tracks and I never thought I'ld see the Rainmakers on a mix (love that government cheese).
This is fine fine fine. The "doubling up" technique is interesting, and I may have to steal the idea - for educational purposes, of course. Good to see Maria Muldaur's name cropping up and the opening and closing tracks are quite stupendous. If I may repeat myself - fine fine fine.
LOVE a capella! (TRy TR's elpee of that name sometime...)Now, if I can only find the Huey Lewis & The News rendition of the Star Spangled Banner that they did before the World Series...
Lots to appreciate here with just enough, (for me anyway), of the unknown to keep it interesting...
I've always loved that Kid Creole track after that ditto Valis.
I am so happy to see Huey Lewis & the News here.
Dude you rock as usual...so much to like hear...but my fave is the Persuasions covering "The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing"! Who sums up the state of modern politics better than Zappa did? " All those politicians down in Washington are just lookin' out for number 1 and number 1 ain't you...why, you ain't even number 2"
