Comment:

There seems to be an infinite number of songs entitled : The Ballad of... I remarked to myself over my hot chocolate last night, "Why not assemble some from your collection into a semi-cohesive mix type thing?" "Excellent idea" I replied to myself. So here it is, it's probably already been done by someone else on here with a lot more panache but I can live with that.

No "Ballad of Wilhelm Fink" by Green Day? Sadness...no, but I think yours takes the cake as far as panache, so pat yourself on the back. In addition to covering some of the most familiar (to me) "ballads" like J. Cash, Big Star, Beatles, and XTC, you also included a colorful and entertaining assortment of others, inc. New Pornographers, TMBG, Sparklehorse, Brian Jonestown, Clem Snide, Zephyrs, etc. Too good!

Ya know, across all three of these mixes there are nothing but superb picks from really great artists. I have to say "Congrats!!!" on a well executed idea.
