Comment:

I was noticing some similarities between the tunes "Fascinatin Rhythm" & "Crazy Rhythm" -- that's what got me started -- & you can see where I ended up.
Given the starting point it's heavily weighted toward the 20's 30's & 40's -- & that's where I've been hanging out lately anyway -- so for consistency I had to leave out a lot of good rocking & country "rhythm" songs -- but then for inconsistency I had to include the Bobs' "Bulky Rhythm" (courtesy of Jenergy) & after that I had to end up with the rocking rousing Marti Bron number for a big finish. So much for consistency.
===============
[ Off on a tangent: "Rhythm Is Our Business" is one of those showcase numbers set up to display a series of instrumental solos -- you know, here's the drummer man, here's the sax, the trumpet is MY business, etc., -- the same basic idea as "We Don't Care What Mama Don't Allow" -- Can I poll the powerful AOTM knowledge base for examples of other
songs like that? I guess Bonzo Dog's Intro/Outro would be a jokey version of the same kind of thing. Or Archie Bell's "Tighten Up" might work in there, too . . . ]

Wonderful as always. Desmond Dekker's got a band intro tune called Reggae Recipe that's pretty great. Let me know if you want it.

Yeah, I like this. On the off the topic tangent: I would always be interested in how the Skatalites would do that, but the one that comes to mind the most is Sly Stone's Medley on the Woodstock soundtrack.

Whispering Jack Smith, Ethel Waters, Judy Garland... who could ask for anything more? (If I recall correctly, "Horsin' Up" by Ismael Miranda & Orchestra Harlow has a little section where the instruments are introduced one by one).
