So I finally got round to throwing some songs together with the software that www.jonpoi.org was kind enough to fix me up with. Its harder than it sounds thats for sure. I'm not happy about a few of the segues here but I found I was just getting 40 mins in before scrapping everything in frustration and starting again, so this time I decided not to censor myself and just post the f**ker before it ends up in the recycle bin. I hope to do these occasionaly and hope to see an improvement as time goes on, so here you are guys and gals this is [one]Feedback:
Barry, if this is mere "throwing some songs together", then god help us when you get serious. This is fabulously entertaining stuff. Never mind the segues - which are much better than you seem to think - this is a wonderful collection of songs. I've been doin' the "monkey" all morning. Need more coffee now. Perhaps a cake of some description, then back to ritual shimmying. Love that Bees tune - oh yeah! It's perhaps best that you "hope to do these occasionally" only. I fear me old bones may not stand the strain - and yet, I cannot stop, gotta go now, gotta dance. Go Barry, shake it now now....
...it gets better and better. I have to comment again. This is f****** brilliant! If it's available as a cd, I must have it, I must, I must. Give it to me NOW! You wouldn't want to see a grown man cry, would you? Ah, go on.
Oh OMD, much derided but who can resist the ironic beauty of Enola Gay? And then if you can you have Belle and Sebastian to tidy things up. Ace.
Hey, man, you got Free Radicals! That's my song of the week. I'm fanatical. Are you kidding me?!? How could I not listen to this?
looks great
nice closure on this. and I dig the pic of album spines (or an LA freeway on slow shutter speed from way up high).
wow. . . great stuff. . . am interested in this mixing software!! can someone link me??
Hmm, Nomates seems to have had a problem with his keyboard. He meant to type "fucking" I think. Anyway, most excellent mix and your segues are just swell.
Listen, that beginning is fantastic. It says don't turn me off. And it couldn't turn anyone off. You are on the right non-linear track. And of course, these things get better as you go along. The things in store for you are going to be mighty pleasant surprises. Teach me something. One into two is just fine not only for this release but for the next, I am sure. Congrats on your new friend. May the relationship deepen. Let me give you some unsolicted advice: Create a file for each mix project, and use that single file to save the working tunes with. Also, save your .sgp file in it. Then, when you want to do an alternating DJ project, you can zip the file, send it out and it will open just fine in another's Acoustica file and....chotto matte yo.....what am I hearing?!? WHOA SEE?!? You taught me something BIG with track number 3! I HAD NO FUCKING IDEA!! Fantastic. Fantastic. Rippa! Zuibun desu! Anyway, keep those files together and then let someone play with ya on the same .sgp file. Hint Hint.
candy fer tomorrow. thanks Barry!
This is just great. I finally got round to listening to it this evening and, yes a fine first attempt. I liked all the track selections and particularly enjoyed your Freeland --> Spoon selection. A nice pick of falsetto's in pop, I half expected a Prince track or Emotional Rescue to follow. I think your segues sounded effortless, especially 17-18. In conclusion, great stuff mate. I look forward to [2].
Please post more!
Curtis is, as usual, correct I did indeed mean to type fucking. Too fucking right I did. Fuck yeah! I'm not being too sensitive am I? Sorry about that, Barry, me old mucker. I'm still loving this mix. Let me say it again, so there's no doubt -- it's fucking brilliant!
