Comment:

Just taking a quick breather as I finalize the next round of Psychedelic Rock Tumbler Volumes. Here's a quick hightlight of one of the bands gracing this particular volume:Psychic IllsReview from Aquarius Records...This is some great spacey rock! Something so confident and seamless about these songs and their delivery. There is this great ability to be spaced out and rock out all at once. Like they are channeling the legacy of Spacemen 3, Psychic Ills have made one of the most striking and satisfying guitar centered records of this young year. We love how they take from both the forefathers of psych as well as the seductive and slightly drugged out sounds of post-punk luminaries like Joy Division and Psycho Candy era Jesus & Mary Chain. The record has not one lull or weak moment. Songs flow right into each other. Whether they are swaying back and forth with a late night ease or turning up and blasting out bleached out melodies; they get it right with every twist and turn the record offers. We would love to see them tour with The Gris Gris as they both take a slightly different approach to psychedelic rock but share a level of excellence that's pretty hard to come by. Highly recommended!

Only know track 6 but judging by your previous fine submissions looks like a belter.

Is it better to melt minds or to ruin curbs? Could a single mix accomplish both objectives? ;-) Great work Gnome.

One follows the other Mixxer; a melted mind will inevitably ruin curbs. This is the shit Chris. Love the lot, but the Sunn O))) through Boris er, uhm, really ruins my mind.

So let me get this straight -- you are taking a breather. And this involves posting another -- let's not beat about the bush here -- well researched and thoughtful mix. This is how you take a "breather"? Well, heaven forefend, you should take an actual break. I tremble at your indefatigability.

Ummm...exactly what Curtis said. Whole thing looks classic, but that Sunn 0)))->Boris stretch is truly great.

Curbs have melted all around me and I think my mind has been ruined as well. Your output of late has been staggering, Gnome-meister.

I'd love to hear this. Can't comment on stretches or runs, as there isn't much familiar here. Perhaps your next pretor (wink-wink, nudge-nudge - anagramming's all the rage, it seems) will include this?

Actually my mind is a bell pepper today. Not much inside to meld with. But having said that, well, there is not much left to say that hasn't been. You're on a break? Give us one by giving us a copy of this.
