Comment:
Trying to strike while the iron is hot (a.k.a. while AoTM is up and running)...here is yet another installment of the Tumbler. Thanks, once again, to the crack team of psyche aficianados who contributed to this mix.A few tracks, here, are of the lengthier variety, which allows a certain freedom for these particular slabs of psyche to grab hold and envelope this listener in it's mind-swirling grip. One such example is Dead Man by Josefus (a personal fave). Here's a little background:Josefus - Dead ManNotes from The Acid Archives of UndergroundThe 18-minute "Dead man" track is a classic... I've always sort of dug it - one of the better tracks in its genre. The entire LP is something of a Texas legend and won't disappoint anyone into local hardrock. Pretty rare which is strange as it apparently sold several thousand copies locally. There is also a "Dead Box" with both official LPs plus unreleased material; this does not include the earlier version of the LP. Another take: Houston outlaw bluesy heavy rock with strong guitar and vocals.
Feedback:
great stuff, man. like what I know (basically the bio->erkin koray stretch. the rest is a mystery and that josefus sounds pretty groovy.
It is all a mystery to me on this installment.
sCHWEET
There was some serious bad juju going on in that part of Texas during that time. Keep em rollin.
By heaven, musicgnome your well is deep; and the waters cool.
Loads of beautiful stuff here.
Nothing like a spot of Demis Roussos warbling away. After that I only know the opener & closer.
Whoa. Once again I bow to your superior knowledge of a genre that I really must get more familiar with. Keep them coming and I'm sure I'll learn!
Gotta love an 18-minute track called "Dead Man". I thought I had a deep collection of music like this but I don't know quite a few of these tracks. And where do you come up with your fantastic cover art?
I must agree with Dead Man. Wonderful cover art. Top mix yet again, Gnome.
Wow, this is some series. Nice work.
And still they come and still the quality is maintained. I'm getting jealous!
I don't know a single song, but I'm sure I'd love it (based upon my appreciation of this type of thing).
What can a say, but awsome job chris.
Number 8 just ate my brain....(that opener has been a fav' album for years!)
Hooray for Erkin Koray! And the indefatigable Musicgnome 'course!!
