Comment:

Well, technically only 3 of the tracks are called "Telephone Song," but you get the idea. I like how the different tunes give glimpses of the development of the technology--the engaged operator in "Give Me Central 209" and "Pennsylvania Six-Five Thousand" and "Telephone Conversation"; pulling a dime out of your pocket in "606-0842"; plenty of answering machines; and the ubiquitous invitation to just ring me up. [Tracks in brackets are actually little clip-interludes.]

Great theme and this looks terrific. Go on, make it downloadable -- you know you want to...

Lynn also does that Trouble on the Line song from Van Lear Rose that would fit here -- for a vol. II, maybe. This is an A-1 theme mix -- a yard-stick, in fact, for anyone attempting such a thing. I'd love to trade for a copy.

I don't know how to make it downloadable, but if you send me an e-mail (catpaul at bellsouth dot net) with an address I'll happily send you a copy. Definitely interested in trades.

Top mix! This is a theme I've been mulling over for a while maybe this'll give me the kick up the arse I need. Interesting the net / web has yet to generate anything like enough songs to form a credible mix.

Hey this looks terrific.By the way, I can't call it development. Phone numbers were better when they started with a name, like Pennsylvania 6-. (Although the phone researchers were never able to fit a name to ones that started with 95x-.)

For volume 2: "Party Line," the Kinks. "Telephone Line," Electric Light Orchestra (their one great song). "Hanging On The Telephone," Blondie (yes, them again).

Good point, Mixxer, about "development." I used that word too loosely, when I really meant "changes."

And jonpoi, this is the tone AND pulse version.
