Jamaican Teaser
Comment:
OK, a couple weekends ago, we did a long weekend in Jamaica. The girls (three) (oh, better explain... one wife & two daughters -- less exciting I know)... The girls were amazed by reggae, in that "You can make every song into reggae". I made it a "learning experience" by discussing the beat, the syncopation, the bass placement, etc. (boring guy that I am. I think I could be happy analyzing celery). So on our return I made a short set of 'historical' reggae to continue their interest. Nothing earth shattering... just some of the classics. I do like the cover. Found the graphic on the web...
Feedback:
Ahhh wish i could go to Jamaica. Maybe someday. This would be a delightful mix to listen to on the beach drinking a cold one.
That's the way, mon. Ease 'em in slowly in a rubadub stylee. There may be an over reliance on Mr. Marley. Needs a shot of Big Youth to skank it up; or Musical Youth for that pop reggae ting -- you see how I emphasised "youth" :) Still, they're your girls -- you know best.
That is a nice graphic. You certainly have the hits in there, and it is respectable. Despite what many have said in the past, that entire Johnny Nash album is actually very very good.
This is quite a tease!
All the classics, grrrreat
'ey, there's nothing wrong wid celery, mon. Good with the peanut buttah. Toots Mayhal?
