Bones from the Pond
Comment:
Jams for the most generous Sir P of Mixwick, who graced me with goodies just for the joy of it, when there was no hope of getting any in return. It's slightly Zen, but my own meditative journey was interwoven, the migration of Man out of Africa -- how I felt that fact, in the original science of my body, long before our path was revealed by genetic markers in a lofty journal. All of us the Sum & Seed of the same hot mama, carrying the prime beats, reinventing tradition. I wanted to explore this much deeper, but again, technical limits and not enough tape to contain a scholarly approach, so it is rather whimsical. The title pilfered from Anne Sexton's poem about her own progeny. (The Dick Gaughan is heavenly, so hopefully not too cliched.) "Maza Meze" loosely translates to "mish mash", the members are from many musical cultures (maza & meze are two versions of the same Mediterranean food product). Excuse the hisses & pops!Feedback:
Noble as holding on to the technology of antiquity might be, ma'am, you must join us in this new and glorious (if terribly flawed) century and mix like space-men do, with these new-fangled computer thingies. We would all benefit, your majesty. Oh, yes ... bitchin' mix.
nice!
*swooning in your greatness* Hope to get a copy in time. Amazing piece of work. I love Wars placement, and the Van Morrison opening, living hotness!
On behalf of those who first left the swamp 375 million years ago, I thank you for blessing us once again with your ancient wisdom and slick beats.
This is great. Afro-Celt, Hamza El Din, Funkadelic, War, and a good old slice of Van Morrison, nice. By that measure, I'm sure the rest is equally as awesome.
I'm lost through much of this, but enjoying the scenery (and ya gotta love the Anne Sexton!).
World music, or should that be "worlds" music?
I can only guess at the over-all sound, & hope by a miracle to hear it maybe someday, but from here it looks *out of this world*.

Oh i'll give that one some stars for genius of startin with Van and endin with Funkadelic! And a wee Oirish tilt too...nice.
Quite swanky! I'm guessing there's quite alot here I would love. Bookmarking this for further investigation...
Thanks for the comment on the LHOOQ mix. That Baroness Elsa was a trip! Never heard of her before. http://home1.gte.net/zzyzlane/write/essay/baroness.html
Investigate I did... Found some marvelous Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Dr. Didg, and Dick Gaughan. Thank you for posting this! Is the Anne Sexton you speak of the soul singer as well?
This is fucking gorgeous. Why on earth didn't I comment on this earlier? I don't know everything here, but I like-to-love what I *do* know and would imagine that the rest would be of similar quality. Please send at your convenience...
