Comment:

A reflective mix about a return to my roots, both musically and geographically (with a thread about conflict, both personal and global). I recently moved to the neighborhood my extended family had occupied since they were "off the boat". While almost everyone escaped to the suburbs, I've come full circle by leaving the safe prison of a well-policed, nosy, boring, stuck-up, narrow hamlet by the marina in favor of this beat little block where I lived 'til I was 3 years old. It's surprisingly relaxed & comfortable here, like a well-worn favorite article of clothing. (Thanks to RC for tech-ing and request fulfillment, and for the Eden Ahbez bit he left on my tracklist, plus the Byrds alt version.) The hope is in the proles!

This is a really great, spiffy, perky (by your standards) mix. I really, really seriously dig it and it provided me with smashing listening for the first 80 minutes of my return trip. I love you and am happy that I could help. I'm glad that you like that alternate version of the Byrds hit, as well. ;-)

Yeah, that 4-10 run is killer. You can't go wrong with King Sunny.

I haven't heard (or thought about) that Peter Gabriel song in years. Nice choice

What a great mix! I love that David Sylvian song, I've been meaning to digitize it from an old Japan EP for some time now.
