Comment:

What do you give the mixer who has everything? Hot apple pie a la mode... & a Sidecar for the lady. Title lifted from the Don Ho rock glass on my kitchen shelf, although this mysteriously ended up lacking Hawaiian music, so it's tiny bubbles without Don Ho! I hope it works for your next soiree, as it was designed to set the scene and ease into intoxicating conversation. Some of this should be in a musical MOBA (I love that "MOBA" sounds like "MOMA" with a head cold), therefore you must be musicalogically young at heart to enjoy this ride. P.S. Support your local Lebowitz.

Looks like a blast. Curious about the Buena Vista Social Club track's title....

another great one, Swank Queen. Xavier Cugat is one of the very best.

I know half, I feel bad about the half I don't know. This looks amazingly put together, and it looks like something I would pay for if I saw it in a store.

See, now this is why I've been petitioning the FCC to give the Swank Queen her own radio station.

Looks to me like this is music not from Hawaii, but from that white-sand floating island that appears sometimes in the Pacific, sometimes in the Caribbean, and sometimes mysteriously emerges from the swampy Voodoo Water - - just like SwankQueen: unpredictable!
I must must must just must hear this!

This both confuses and fascinates me, which is of course a good thing. I like the look of this trip a hell of a lot!

This looks crazy in a very cool way. I actually love that Iggy/Debbie cover. (I could probably do without anything including Mr. Manilow, but hey, I'm sure it works here....) ;-)

Now that I've actually imbibed the beauty of this mix, I've got to say that it's one of the most freewheeling, exhilarating listens that I could ever imagine. SwankQueen is an absolute sorceress when it comes to gorgeously impulsive pacing and transitions. Big highlights here for me are the Ronnie Rice, Evaporators, Sexareenos, Deb & Ig, Don Byron Quintet and Cugat picks, but the rest is gorgeous, as well.
