Peace
Comment:
Should have done this long ago, of course, but recently the stars have lined up just right. Mssers. Young and Simon just released new CDs with some thought provoking tracks, but the real genesis is track 12. I was wandering around in the musical wilderness (where I spend a lot of time) and saw this track. 'What would someone have to say about Dover Delaware?', I asked myself. Turns out that it's a beautiful love song from a soldier telling his girl that he'll meet her in Dover, Delaware. For my international friends, Dover is where all the bodies of dead soldiers are brought. Sigh. Let me also refer you to: http://www.peace-not-war.org Click on the jukebox at the top and thery are streaming a LOT of great tunes (1,3,7 and 20 came from this website). Jefferson Pepper (11) has a great christmas anti-war tune that will be on 'this year's model'.
Feedback:
Very nice, Art. All that's missing is the Burrito Bros, My Uncle. Hard to believe that people are complaining more about the price of a gallon of gas than they ae about the increasing number of caskets being flown into Dover. Guess this really is the "Me Generation" in action.
very nice.
Nicely done. Tom Waits' "Day After Tomorrow" would fit nicely here too.
This looks great. A fine return to AOTM. Peace & Love Artie.
Great one Art. I've been digging Neil Young's Lets Impeach The President.
Very nice. Just baught the new Neil album two days ago. Love the whole thing. I am also seeing CSN & Y live in concert in July cant wait to here these songs live.
Nicely compiled and at risk of pissing you off cos it's your mix after all, I can't resist saying Bill Withers,'I Can't Write Left-handed' would be in perfect keeping here.
Good & timely - I thought I was paying close attention to this war but I wouldn't have picked up on the Dover Delaware title either - which maybe just shows what a good job the authorities are doing at keeping this war off the radar & out of focus.
Keep up the good work! As Arlo Guthrie once said, "if you want to end wart & stuff, you've got to sing LOUD!"

oops, that last bit should have been "end war & stuff" -- but probably the same principle applies to ending warts . . .
Very good to see that sometimes even peace can be conveyed in black and white terms. You, sir, have an inspiring piece of work here. A listen no one wants to argue with.
#14 bring a tear to my eye,everytime
You can't go wrong with Phil Ochs or that Costello track. And Peace Train! Good stuff.
