Comment:

I made this mix for my friend Tony. For some reason, I never gave it to him. I kept it in my car and listened to it all that summer. One morning right after 9/11, I was at work and was really, really upset by what was going on. I told my boss I had to go out to the lot and sit in the car for a while and get my shit together. Once I got out to the car, I couldn't stop myself from turning on the radio so I could listen to the news. NPR had a microphone on some woman whose husband was buried in the rubble of the World Trade Center. She was totally hysterical and screaming that she had to dig him out with her bare hands. I couldn't take any more of this and popped in a tape. It was this mix. "#9 Dream" came on. It made me feel a little bit better, if only for a minute or two.

To this day, that song reminds me of that moment, that morning.
