Comment:
ummmmm... here's one I've been sitting on for a while now. decided to pick it up again today...kind of feels like this might be a steady summer jam for me, as it's mostly filled with stuff I've been seriously been grooving on the last month or two. [hole-eee shit, that new bardo pond is soooooo beautiful]. Oh yeah, Twin "Different Drums" as bookends, the first is off of the dream collaboration (for me, anyways) of Sweet and Hoffs. The second is thanks to one, Rob Conroy. This song has drilled its way into my skull once again. heh.Feedback:
this whole mix looks REALLY, really great...
I especially like the lemonheads next to ghosface killah(!) and zz top next to stereolab...!

that matthew sweet & susannah hoffs is a good duet album but that one by isobell campbell & mark lanegan is a killer one
Looks wonderful, Shawn, as always. I must check out the Sweet / Hoffs album - I love the Stereolab the end stretch from Pink Mountaintops. From your notes, I think you've got the right sort of vibe going on here too!
I also like this vibe you have going.
This is fuckin' brilliant, my friend. Count me in for a copy. And you're welcome re: re-awakening your appreciation for that killer Lemonheads cover. I esp love the 'heads, Ghostface, Pink Mountaintops (that's close to being my favorite song of the year), Holly, Shocking Bue, Raconteurs, ZZ Top (!) and Stereolab tracks.
Steady summer jam? It would suit sun-baked London right now I bet.
This looks great . . . summer jams are definitely where my mind is at recently . . . . loving the Pink Mountaintops of late . . . . and I'm going to dig out some vintage ZZ Top in a minute - well overdue on my part. Fun !
Great Shawn! (..and the Black Angels, too!)
Wonderful to see another Shawn Porter installment. Far too many gems to comment on, but must say that holly g. into pink m. is quite inspired.
Nesmith's version in the middle would have been... But I digress; this looks really nice.
The Pastels also do a cover of Different Drum. I love the Black Angels.
Ah I like the way this mix moves!
Yeah, I'd like to go strolling through this one.
Roars & bleats from start to finish!
Rockin' good news!
Lots to like here and some stuff to check out too.
Excellent.
dig the different drum bookends!
sporter, i love you man. i'm so sorry that i didn't comment on this earlier... i've been incognito for awhile ;) ... i especially love the brightblack, raconteur, and pink mountaintops picks... but really, the whole thing is sensational. ya got mad skillz.
