Comment:

My dad's brother got fed up with trouble stricken Northern Ireland and headed for the British mainland in 1981. A complicated character to say the least, he severed all ties, not one call home and no forwarding address. When his mother got ill my parents searched for him, via every channel possible but to no avail. She died in '86. When his brother was diagnosed as terminally ill in 2004 the search began again, and proved fruitless. On Monday this week he knocked the door of my parental home as they sat down to dinner and said 'Hello remember me?' A detailed account of loved ones lost ensued. Where have you f**king been anyway?, and why didn't you call? The matriarch of the household asked.... response : Oh you know how it is, 1 year turns to 2 and before you know it... Anyway, It turns out he lives and has lived 70 miles from where I am now. (You couldnt make this up) This mix has got nothing to do with that story whatsoever or so i thought but I made it with this news fresh in my mind, on reflection it makes some semblance of sense. You cant pick your family.... Click the link to come home, indulge your prodigal side.

Fascinating story. This mix does seem to relate to it in a big way. Great choices..

That's nuts. As for the mix, looks great, and you can't wrong with that Beulah pick.

Outstanding story and tracks to match, especially the Wilson, Waterboys, and Midlake! My question: are you gonna' give a copy to this prodigal uncle?

Well Valis I will if he leaves a forwarding address, if not i'll have to keep it on ice for the next time he comes knockin'...

Well if we could all pick our families, Bill Gates would have 35,658 kids (actually they could all live comfortably on his estate). Interesting story. I think all of us have wanted to leave our past behind at one point or another. Like the mix too (tracks 1,5,7 and 13 especially)

Love the story and the mix. Even love the Jackson Browne nestled in the middle there.
