Comment:
Ahhh yes indeed, the side project. I put this together over the last few weeks and it is a selection of bands spawned from other bands, sometimes the side project became the main bread winner but mostly these artists created a vehicle with which to explore new ideas and sounds that didnt fit the template of their day job. I have quite a few more laying around but I would welcome any suggestions for a volume 2.
Feedback:
Really cool concept for a mix, and excellent selections.
Very Cool! Great Breeders, Reindeer Section & Folk Implosion picks. I love the idea of 'The Bens' & I'm not sure I've heard track 2 but I certainly want to..
Great idea! Oysterhead, Frog Brigade and the Traveling Willburys come to mind for volume 2
Imagine my fear when I spotted the title of this mix and, momentarily, thought of Leo Sayer -- thanks for that. Then further imagine my pleasure upon discovering the actuality. So, Barry, I say again, thanks for that.
Very cool idea and very well-done, to boot.
Very impressive. Great concept. And, I can't get over how well this was compiled. Never woulda thunk how many quality tunes would have come out such ventures. Kudos to you!
Great idea! (How about the Dukes of Stratosphear & the Persian Rugs?) Love the OP8 & Monks of Doom...
I'm with Valis
Great idea - I just put that Dump track on a mix this last weekend!
Oh man go down the Elephant 6 sideroad for heaps of ammo here. Would love acopy of this Barry.
Clever idea and superb research. The Bens was briefly a favorite around here, but Mr. Folds in the end captured the hearts and minds.

agreeing w/ all the others that this is a great idea and a fine mix. I'd forgotten all about Monkeywrench. and I'm happy to see a picture of Seattle on here. that's where I live!
Something on the side!
Looks like a brilliant volume 1, & valis has some good ideas there for a vol. 2 --

Cool idea! "Monks of Doom" - now that's an awesome name.
Dammit--I was hoping from the title that this would be a mix of Bruce Willis songs. He can really belt them blues.
I always find side-projects to be in the least interesting, so I dig this mix on that ground itself... but you've choosen some great side-projects from some of my favourite bands. Excellent mix.
Well done. I'd like to hear this
great idea and work
Good idea... Frankly I'm relieved it's not some kind of "dream soundtrack" for the old Bruce Willis show...
