"Ich geb' 'ne Party heut' Nacht" is German for "I'm throwing a party tonight."
My godmother is throwing a party in Switzerland, where I grew up. I'm invited, too, but I can't make it since I live in the United States now. Instead I will surprise her with some mix CDs that hopefully will provide the music for the party. This one is a dance mix. My godmother was born in 1937, and I decided to create mixes of the music that I think she grew up with. No Swiss charts exist of that time period, but on the Internet I found some charts of neighbor country Germany, and I got some tips from one of my godmother's sisters.
I wrote about the dominance of German language songs in the Swiss charts of the early '60s for another mix, and you can read about it here if you are interested.
Big thanks are due to Mohr for providing most of the German songs, to Nest of Vipers for providing the title track and for her help with the Italian hits, and to RetroJoe for "Blue Tango."
You can download the mix here.

Feedback:
Claude, this turned out so cool; it was my complete pleasure to be able to help you.
I absolutely LOVE 4->6, that is such a brilliant stretch; but you've got tons of stuff on this mix I love, and I'm going to download it now.
They're bound to shake their booties to this at the party!

'twas a pleasure, sir. And I'll be darned if they don't swing a leg (or two) to this superior concoction. D/l it, folks, it's definitely worth your while.
Should be a swingin' party, Claude.
is that your godmother there on the cover? am downloading now, looks terrific. I have a Caterina Valente album that I sleep with.
This...I gotsta here.
Looks perfectly swell to these eyes! Sorry you couldn't attend the shindig, but I'm sure these songs will have your godmother and the gang working the dancefloor.
Downloading this as I type... looks quite interesting.
This looks like a lot of fun.
Must admit that mid-20th century German pop/swing music wasn't a genre that would have ever occurred to me to investigate, so thanks for this! Some wonderfully quirky tunes on here - I particularly enjoyed the opener, as well as 13, 14, 18, 27 & 28
What a swinger it will be!
