Comment:

Not much to say about this. I got dumped pretty hard, and ultimately, making this mix was the best thing i did to get over it. While I may not be 100% over it (at the time of writing) I ended up putting so much into making the CD and artwork that it distracted me from being bummed out. Which was good!

I set up the mix to take me through the Kubler-Ross model of the five stages of grief. Tracks 1-4 are "denial", tracks 5-8 are "anger", tracks 9-11 are "bargaining", tracks 12-17 are "depression" and tracks 18-23 are "acceptance". I think it works, and I ended up being really pleased with the mix. The only thing is, as good as it was for me at the time, NOW I listen to it and it bums me out again. Oh well. Time heals everything, and music certainly helps. If you have a bad break-up, I hope this mix'll help you out too.

That's some fantastic cover and back art. Like the use of the stages here, glad to see "Seeing Other People" - one of my faves - in Acceptance. 8-9 is a great coupling, wish I had thought of it.

This is a good mix. Coincidentally, I recently used both that Tori Amos song and that Leonard Cohen song on a mix of mine that was not quite a break-up mix (we never actually dated), but more of an "ending it" mix. Too complicated, don't ask... I find that a mix always helps a bit when any sort of relationship or "involvement" is over.
