Comment:

This is a mix I'm making for a neighbor, who's just turned 18 not too long ago (2 years my younger). She's not very savvy about music and I sorta want to encourage her to look for music in other places other than the radio. She's interested in classic rock, so I included a few songs by artists such as Led Zep and The Doors. I also want her to give more obscure artists a chance, artists that aren't in the mainstream. I included some songs by a few artists that may be considered "dark," as I know she went through this gothic stage (I think she'll love Swans). I think this mix is all over the place, but hopefully there's something holding it together.

The title for the mix is taken from a lyric in the PJ Harvey song.

for the most part, these are very accessible songs by a wide range of eclectic artists - there's no better way to introduce someone to new music than through accessible songs that are still artistic &, well, good in their own right. this is a very, very well made mix. hope she likes it as much as i do.
