Freakbeats, garages, and mods, oh my!: a garage rock/freakbeat compilation Vol.1
Comment:
Now why would anyone mix UK Freakbeat with good ol' American garage? Apparently I would; I just thought these two should meet face to face in a mix. I've been on a garage rock/freakbeat kick lately (it happens a lot, I'm really into the Mod scene and I love garage rock), and I decided to make a compilation that could be classified somewhere in between the Nuggets compilation and the Freakbeat Scene compilation, but not exactly. For one thing, it includes some better known bands with corresponding popular tracks, but it also contains some lesser known tracks by underrated artists. I'm not even sure how this came to be; I guess I just wanted to make a simple 60s garage rock anthology that somehow expanded in my head. The later volumes will have some early psych, as well as more British invasion groups. Also, there'll be some less mainstream ones. The first volume is merely scratching the surface. This is a major task, I have to admit. I don't think I've ever undertaken such an ample compilaton. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I'll include a downloadable link as soon as I figure out how to do it.Update: I think I figured it out. Enjoy!
Feedback:
Just put Biff Bang Pow on a mix. This so good, no my mistake, this is perfect. Can't wait for the next volume. Until then, this kicks arse.
if you upload this, you will rule all.
Oooooo some of my favorites!!! Thoroughly fun.
I would love to hear this, looks very Wadlike and these two genres work perfectly. I also can't wait for the next volume or the download.
Some great bands in play. Keep 'em coming.
Yes!!!! Excellent compilations. This stuff is what I've been listening to a lot of lately as well. :)
