Comment:

for anyone keeping tabs, yes i did say this series was going to be a monthly affair, & i know it's only been a few weeks since my last entry - but to clear things up, i made the first installment a couple weeks before i posted it here, & i don't plan on giving this to its recipient for another couple. so that should be about a month & some change after all is said & done.

anyhow, onto this mix: this has turned out to be one of my own personal favorites that i've made in the past couple of years. i don't want to be too persistent in how well-done i think it is, because then expectations are raised unreasonably high & it will, inevitably, become a disappointment. & i mean, there's nothing mind-blowing, surprising or eye-popping about it - it's decidedly low-key & modest - but that's what i like about it; the songs segue into each other very nicely & i just think all the songs flow very well & there's a very tightly knit sonic theme (there's some strong folk undercurrents running throughout, & some downbeat-driven straight-up pop songs).

i'm going to have a hard time parting with this one, as i've even been mowing over the idea of making myself a copy (which, when i make a mix for someone else, i am staunchly opposed to), but who knows. in the end, i just think this is a fairly strong, well-made mix. i hope she ("she" being my best friend, the recipient of this series) & all of you enjoy it.

make yourself a copy, you deserve it. i am curious about your attitude about making yourself a copy. i don't see your enjoyment diminishing the recipient's enjoyment. very nice mix and i enjoy reading your comments on other people's mixes. keep it up!

I would DEFINATELY make myself a copy if I had created this mix...2, 4, 5-10, 12-15 are just gorgeous choices. Well done! -Famous.

Some really great songs on here. "Almost Gold" is music perfection, an unsung masterwork, imho, so I'm always ecstatic when someone uses it. And nearly as pleased to see that someone besides me still likes Everclear (and not just their singles - keen choice you made). Very refreshing mix - I'm only sad it isn't longer

Well, I think the choice has been made for you Anthony, a copy must be made. I make copies of every mix I make and most aren't as good as this. Your 3-8 run is just fantastic. Great White Stripes choice and Dylan closer also..
