Comment:
-Sometimes it works for me to start with a cover picture & then fill in the music to go with it - anyway, that's what I did here, with this historic encounter between child star Brenda Lee & youth idol Elvis Presley -
& I'd be hard pressed to explain why these particular songs came up for that particular picture - mostly 50's obviously, including a few real cliches, and then maybe something about kids & teenagers - well, it's all old noise, but these are numbers I'd like to see Brenda & Elvis dance to -

Feedback:
Don't You Just Know It? The original Louie? Dancing In The Streets? Envelope please...
Lots of great old R&R heew! 3,5,7,8,21 and 29 are highlights. Well spun Daddio.
Didn't they used to call Brenda Lee "Little Miss Dynamite"? And here she is singing "Dynamite". She was also the #1 female singer of the '60s. Don't know many of these songs, but I'll bet it's a Good 'ol Time!
Fum mix, and kid-friendly, too. My daughter (4.5 year old) likes Elvis. But whenever we talk about him, she wants to know why he died. She is trying to come to grips with the concept of mortality. This mix, however is full of life and some of the songs might well be timeless.
Your mixes should have a special section in my favorite record store. Nestled nicely amongst labels such as Bear Family, Yazoo, Orchard, Smithsonian Folkways and Buffalo Bop. You'd make a killing (as far as my checkcard goes).
This is fantastic, my friend. Any chance for a trade on this monster of a mix?
This is great! I'd like for you to dance with me to this!
Whee!
Gee Whiz! This is utterly ace. The song titles alone put a smile on my face
looks great! would love to hear Cookie & the Cupcakes... or maybe I'd just like to eat them.
Toe tappin' fun!
Looks like some crazy rock, my friend! Wish I knew more than just the Collins Kids and Chuck Berry's "Nadine."
Big fun.., a-ha-ha-ha, hey-O-O-O!
How could this not possibly be great?!?!?!?
Fantastic!
This is an awesome collection. Lots of great picks.
Is it even possible for a human not to like the music on this mix, and all your mixes for that matter? Hell no! It's like you're directly tapped into the source of human joy.
This mix may be the breakthrough that medical science has been waiting for. Simply administer intravenously and all will be well. Hmmmm yeah...
Well Mr. De Vivre, you have a real masterpiece on your hands here! I guess this is mostly 50s, when rock was nascent and establishing its groove. A few seem to be from the 60s, Martha and the Vandellas definitely, and I'm guessing that outstanding Genies track as well (which to me sounds like it might be Stax-Volt rather than Motown but I would love to know).
Anyway, who needs guitars, when you have a sax and a piano. Especially when you can do that thing with all the piano keys in a row, like Sanford Clark? And as far as bass, the vehicle is not at all a bass guitar, but a deep voice, except in cases where there is a real live stand-up bass like in Betty Jo.
The Elvis track was an eye-opener; the sardonic tone of it might surprise those who are thinking of Love Me Tender. And you do have my 2 absolute favorite 50s songs, Louie (Louie) and Huey (Piano Smith). Super super well done.
