Pour Me Another Country Song
Comment:
I've been neglecting my inner cowboy of late and have had a bit of a binge over the last couple of days on records released this year and found myself drawn to the stuff that can I suppose be considered as Alt Country. For a boy from small town Ireland who has never seen a rodeo or a rattlesnake I can somehow connect to this type of stuff like few other genres. Anyhow, if you havent heard the murderous duet that is track 10 then what are you waiting for? Gotta go, I ride at dawn...Full tracks on this occasion rather than a continuous mix all neatly numbered for your ease and convenience, now you cant say fairer than that.
Feedback:
Yee haa! All saddled up & ready to hit the trail with ya. Nice one Barry, been working on something like this for me dad's birthday next week.
Some fine stuff here, my friend, particularly Bonnie Billy and the Magnolia Electric Co...
looks great, Barry - and a real nice cover too. can't wait to hear it, so thanks for the download. I only wish it were available on cassette.
i do like the willard grants a lot...though i generally find most of this stuff grates on me after a while...still another fine lookin mix barry and yes great cover.
Looks excellent. Glad to see Beauty Shop on here. Hey didn't I see you drving around in a pickup truck with a gun rack?
This is terrific, Barry. Many thanks for the download. I see tornadoZ is tapping on your "cassette" case -- the devil. I am avoiding any reference to "country" and all that may or may not imply -- I don't want to upset any of the sensitive souls who may be reading this -- I believe Orchid is on full alert. Nice one, mate, as they say up here in Manchesterville.
Wait. Did you say "country"? I sure hope not, unless I've time-warped back to Art of the Mix circa 1812, the final year that term was considered acceptable by the educated folk here in Ken-tuck-ee. (I believe the politically correct term nowadays is "urbanly challenged"). Now excuse me while I go wring my hands and moan and cry at the utter ignorance of humanity and soothe my sensitive soul with some 2 Live Crew. Peace out mutha fuckas, (Always a fan of your mixes, by the way, barry).
A lot here I haven't heard but I sure looks greta
Ride on "Hoss". 8,9,16 & 17=Whoa Nellie Belle!
a great listen from start to finish, 8 & 10 are my two favorites.
I'm probably more in the Dom(1) campout on this kinda' stuff.., a little goes a long way for me, but--the genre is not without its charms and some tracks are as comfortable as a n old pair o' boots. Or chaps I suppose. (More a term you island folk are familiar with, though used in a different way.) Head 'em up! Mooooove 'em out!
Soundtrack to my Wednesday morning and wednesday evening. Loved it, especially the 8-11 section and the Magnolia, Mason & Ritter choices. Can I request a copy on reel to reel?
Thanks for the link Barry.Really enjoying this as we 'speak'.Loads I didn't know, but yep, I've been ejoying the Broken Family Band of late. Need a copy on 8-track for the car please. I'd pour you another if I were there . . . .
Might be my fave of yours, thus far. VERY well produced, tons of enlightening tracks, incredible sequencing. All hallmarks of fantastic mixing, imo. TOP marks.
Better jump in quick before someone posts eight mixes in a row and this one disappears. This was, and presumably will continue to be, a great listen. So gratitude and JD's all round.
Well country did spring from Irish folk after all they say. Looks very fine this.
Just trying to catch up with a mix backlog here, Barry, and sorry I didn't get to this one sooner. I really love this sort of stuff and the whole thing looks just wonderful. Appreciate the inclusion of the Drive-By Truckers, and the Bonnie "Prince" Billy and WGC are great too.
