Comment:

This cute girl I've known for the last ten years or so recently moved to town. Knowing nearly as little about women as George Costanza, I was the last person to realize (and only after being told by a bunch of other people) that she had this crush on me. So quite naturally she moved to town with her live-in boyfriend. Yet this hasn't prevented her from flirting with me and then acting like we never met (Dylan reference intended :-). This cat and mouse game has been going on now for several years and based upon her near sexual pleasure derived from mixed signals, I decided to make this mix. I wanted it to chronicle the mixed signals, desire, and as of now disillusionment with the entire situation as I see these games are so stupid and pointless (of course Cowgirl in the Sand HAD to go on this mix). Why can't people just be honest with each other? Note: the mix is not yet complete (some editing of live cuts and inserting fade-outs, etc.), but I wanted to use this great community as a way of getting feedback on possible sequences and selections. Here's the "first draft."

hmmm very interesting situation, & seeing as your a fellow seinfeld fan, i must throw in my support. i think "surrender" by tom petty & the heartbreakers would make an excellent addition, but i think - other than that - you've got it down pat quite well. i love the neil young, rolling stones, bob dylan, hendrix, springsteen & petty tracks. i hope all goes well, this seems intriguing.

thanks for the suggestion. Do you happen to know any freeware I could use to fade out the applause at the end of the live tracks (and also the end of Crosstown Traffic, since on the album that segues into Voodoo Chile)? I think I might have to go about it the long way; feed it into a digital recorder, use a real fader, and then burn a CD of the edited track. But if you know of a short-cut I'd love to know.

I don't know which burning software you use. However, most of them provide simple audio editing, or at least the ability to fade any specified track. If you wish to discuss this further, feel free to send me an email.Excellent theme and mix, by the way.

thanks for the tips! I actually was able to edit some tracks to make things a lot better. But now I'm re-thinking the sequence and selections. When's it gonna stop!!??? (I've seen High Fidelity too many times :-)

Nice mix & tho the groove wouldn't flow with the other sounds here, The Tamms 'Hey Girl Don't Bother Me,' fits perfectly if only in title!

music may do it, but it seems to me that you've just gotta close that deal ! Don't leave it to chance . . . . (another guy is boning your girl, dammit!)
