Comment:
Something rustled up for Moe as part of our trade. Considering who it was for it just had to be pop and pop it is. Fingers crossed he will like it. Should get this on its way to you later today Ion, enjoy.Feedback:
Looks interesting, only know the Great Lakes.
Loads of pop goodness here. Especially digging that Sunshine Fix and Aislers Set tracks.
wow, what i've heard I like but it sure looks cool
Poppy pink & purple paisley sugarplumes, ooh my teeth hurt with the sweetness!
Sunshine Fix, Great Lakes & Summer Hymns, can't get 'No Betta.'
There is an alternate universe where 'Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin', ' Marshmallow Coast' and 'The Donkeys' top the singles charts on a frequent basis. I wanna live there. And goddammit I want to hear this mix!!
Most of this is out of my range of knowledge, but it looks fun.
Looks amazing Barry! I know a few thangs (like the great Garageland song and the song the preceeds it), but most of this will be a breath of fresh air to my tired ears. Can't wait to hear it. Your mixes should be headed your way this weekend.
I imagine that somewhere in Barry's house there's this loose floorboard. If you prise it up a steel hoop is revealed. Pull hard on the hoop and the floor slides open to reveal a darkened stairway. Start downward and as you reach the third step a light flickers on and a vast chamber hoves into view. Row upon row of steel shelving stretches into the unseen distance. The shelves are filled with records, CDs, tapes, dusty volumes and hefty files. Here is the Dali Repository of All Musical Knowledge. It appears that this week, Barry has been down there once or twice. My head is spinning, at about 45rpm it seems. 24 more tracks to broaden our minds. Cheers, Barry. However, in the immortal words of the fourth stooge, old Saddam sir -- relax guy!
I know surprisingly little here, but what I know tells me the rest is highly enjoyable.
He'll love this!!! And where the hell did you come across "Peanut Duck"?!? I know someone on this site who will be saddened to have been scooped on it...
You've given Moe a good whacking & that's just what he (always) needed!
There's lots I don't know here, but I've started checking out some of the artists, and I've already found a few new faves. Great work!
Wow! You have no idea how jealous of Mr. Moe I am right now ;) Seriously, this looks great and is going to a very worthy recipient. Loving the inclusion of the Pipas and like the Gotan Project pick too. I don't know that Toy Dolls pick but its name now ranks up there as one of my favourite ever song titles.
This will keep Mr. Moe popping.
And, another round of applause for another fantastic mix, mixer and mix recipient!
this looks terrific, but I'm w/ sammyg; where's the link? how can you keep this fine thing from us?
Been spinning this disc the last few days, and it gets better after every listen. It's full of that exotic pop music that I know and love.
