Comment:
Why? And where are the other parts (I don't own the other parts to any of these songs)? It seems to be particularly prevalent around the surf rock and funk genres... but then my record collection isn't the best focus group.Anyway - one surf-funk part-y.
(edit - apologies on track 16, the band are Russian, AOTM can't handle Cryillic, and that's my attempt of the translation)
Feedback:
A great PART-Y mix!
You'd be too young to remember this, sonny, but long long ago, in the 20th century, would-be hit tunes were released as "singles"
(which were actually doubles, being 2-sided "records") (these were sort of like CDs, but heftier, & 2-sided), & sometimes a performer couldn't fit the whole tune on one side - the rest is history.
?? But then how does one part survive without the other? The rest is mystery.

Someone somewhere probably has a huge library of unwanted song parts waiting to be strung together...
I"m imagining a sort of Frankentape, with parts of White Heat and Ski Storm and Funk Nassau sewn together and exposed to lightning. Live, my sweet musical creation, live!!!
And yeah, this one's a keeper. I'm especailly fond of Reasons to Be Cheerful, Part 3, which not only is lacking Parts 1 and 2, but actually includes "Part 3," in the lyrics. Repeatedly.

Great idea. Great execution.
just what musicgnome said
Brilliantly done, When are you doing part 2?
Could this be the infamous "party of the first part", so often referred to in legal documentation? Forgive me, I am sometimes unable to control myself.
Heh, neat observation, and some sweet, rarely-seen music. The next volume could include NMH's "King of Carrot Flowers" and The Decemberists' "Crane Wife" trilogy, if you need any ideas ;)
For my PART (groan I know) this ooks superb.
Congrats on MotW!
Put teogether well, especially with The Rats.
Congrats on MOTW. What is the problem with СУЯиППчҚ?
This parts thing is big in old New Orleans R&B. Here's a few ideas for your mix:
Big Chief (Parts 1,2) - Prof. Longhair
Second Line (P1,2) - Stop, Inc.
Ooo Poo Pah Doo (P1,2) - Jessie Hill

Cool mix. Good idea. Glad the Man Or Astro-man? song made the cut.
Great stuff Adrian, congrats on the MOTW. Some sweet cuts here, well deserved.
I am partial to the JBs, the Meters
and Prof. Longhair.
and Prof. Longhair.
Interesting theme... I like how you executed it.
Hey! My first ever mix of the Week! I'd like to thank my agent, all my friends, everyone on AOTM...
And the Zutons, whose "Nightmare : Part 2" inspired the whole idea, but was then dropped as it didn't fit with any of the other tracks.
(Thanks Mixxer for how to fix the Cryillic!)

Congrats on MotW.
You rule! Great idea and execution.
COMGRATS ON MOTW!
Congratulations . . . . funny concept . . . and some great pics here . . . you've had me searching and yes, there are loads out there (especially in my appalling prog rock guilty pleasure section) . . . I had never really noticed or thought about it.
Well done on the Mix of the Week thing. I have chosen to not add any more "part" gags. You'll thank me later.
Congratulations!
Good work . . . I'm partial to part two with its mo' funkiness.
Congrats. As said, a wonderful idea.
Excellent theme. Congrats!
