Comment:
This one has been a labour of love, when I went back to it today I realized the folder was dated February this year, and I could never seem to get it to gel. The John Martyn song came on today while I had things on shuffle as I was dashing about doing mundane household chores and that became the missing piece of the jigsaw. So I finished it tonight. It's mainly made up of stuff out of the Barrydali comfort zone but it's all the better for it. I like it a lot, I suppose its up to you guys to have the final say but I think I'll be listening to this one a lot. This download comes in a folder with individual mp3's... just for a change. Title bastardized from the wonderful Fluke closer. Go on, have a listen.
If you don't have the facility to download then drop me an email and I'll send you a disc.
Feedback:
Well this looks adventurous Mr. Dali. That Fluke closer is a killer! I like the Abyssinians track a lot too. Thanks for the DL.
Haven't heard that Transglobal Underground for years! But it used to be a regular feature in the Gobi household . . . same same for Leftfield.Looking forward to this . . . .
Love the Marcos Valle track ("Os Grilos"?), although I prefer the Emma Bunton original of course..Original and Gorecki are 2 tracks of immense beauty. And the Bebel Gilberto track? Try saying that after a few beers.. Nice work Barry. I shall listen in full when I rise in the morn...
this is something i didn't expect to see coming from you, but hey, i like surprises! i don't know all of this, but some of it i know i'd really dig! nice work.
like it a lot, 2 is an all time fav and 11-14 are great too
Love the title. One of the many things I have learned since finding this site is to expand your boundaries, and this you have done.
'Tis a wonderful thing when a long-time-in-the-making mix comes together quite by random accident. Suppose many of us know the feeling. Congrat's Barrydali.
Very nice. Tracks 1, 8, 9, & 15 are all great.
I am loading this up for a pemanent sport on the iPod right now!
umm...make that permanent.
Now look here, Barry. I've just been waxing lyrical about Sammyg's latest masterpiece -- and, oh yes it's a corker! -- and now I find this little treasure. Ruddy brilliant! I mean, knock-me-down brilliant!I'll have to rethink the whole Mix of the Year thing again -- so thanks for that!I adore the John Martyn song and that Fluke endpiece -- oh yes. Slow down now and let me catch my breath.
Oh yeah, this looks good. I really like freezepop, fluke and lamb.
This looks gorgeous. I'll be downloading it momentarily...
This is one [place understatement here] mix. I agree with Nomates; this certainly is a little treasure.
I took the liberty of searing these tracks together into an mp3 player-friendly mix. Click the pic to get your fill.

Hahaha. Thanks DJ K, I will check it out immediately.
Ah, a 'Valisian' mix tis me sees. Nothing like treadin' outside yer comfort zone. 9 -the end is bliss. As is the sound of a frou frou, I'm off to La Moulin Rouge forthwith!
I'm with Mssr. Connection. Wonderful.
This looks extra nice, my friend. Am downloading currently to give it a good listen.
Can't go wrong with some Roots Manuva, Frou Frou, Leftfield and Pop Will Eat Itself!
Relishing this one! Absolutely relishing it!

This looks quite fabulous. 15 is an all-time fav.
Christ on a bike. Karen's HTML skills are just unbelievable. God she's good. (smokes a fag.....)
Spendid eclectic goodness. Thanks for the download link.
Thanks Barrydali for the selections and to Kay for the mp3 mix. Smashing.
Wow - this is just killer. Thanks Barry & Karen!
your title doesn't have any normal vowels in it. this was a labor of love to listen to, Barry. terrific from start to finish, but favorites are Marcos Valle, Frou Frou, Freezepop and Lamb.
Thanks for the download, kiddo. Cooler temperatures tend to be very good for gels. Looking forward to a fine escape with this. Thanks, again.
Top to tail top-notch. Listened on the way to work this morning... and you know what - I'm going to listen again on the way home. All hail stepping out of the comfort zone - for it is good.
My God, this looks fantastic, Barry - you've definitely hit a vibe here and you can tell the effort that went into it. With the Bebel Gilberto -> Reed -> Lamb trio, you have 3 of my favourite songs right there, and the positioning of the Leftfield is great. The John Martyn was a great choice!
How on Earth did I miss this? It looks amazing. I need to pay more attention to this site!
Missed this as well. Anyway, fantastic all the way through. I'm just currently getting into Marcos Valle and I love your selection from him on this mix.
