Comment:

This one has been a labour of love, when I went back to it today I realized the folder was dated February this year, and I could never seem to get it to gel. The John Martyn song came on today while I had things on shuffle as I was dashing about doing mundane household chores and that became the missing piece of the jigsaw.
So I finished it tonight. It's mainly made up of stuff out of the Barrydali comfort zone but it's all the better for it. I like it a lot, I suppose its up to you guys to have the final say but I think I'll be listening to this one a lot. This download comes in a folder with individual mp3's... just for a change. Title bastardized from the wonderful Fluke closer. Go on, have a listen.
If you don't have the facility to download then drop me an email and I'll send you a disc.

Love the Marcos Valle track ("Os Grilos"?), although I prefer the Emma Bunton original of course..Original and Gorecki are 2 tracks of immense beauty. And the Bebel Gilberto track? Try saying that after a few beers.. Nice work Barry. I shall listen in full when I rise in the morn...

Love the title. One of the many things I have learned since finding this site is to expand your boundaries, and this you have done.

'Tis a wonderful thing when a long-time-in-the-making mix comes together quite by random accident. Suppose many of us know the feeling. Congrat's Barrydali.

Now look here, Barry. I've just been waxing lyrical about Sammyg's latest masterpiece -- and, oh yes it's a corker! -- and now I find this little treasure. Ruddy brilliant! I mean, knock-me-down brilliant!I'll have to rethink the whole Mix of the Year thing again -- so thanks for that!I adore the John Martyn song and that Fluke endpiece -- oh yes. Slow down now and let me catch my breath.

This is one [place understatement here] mix. I agree with Nomates; this certainly is a little treasure.
I took the liberty of searing these tracks together into an mp3 player-friendly mix. Click the pic to get your fill.

My God, this looks fantastic, Barry - you've definitely hit a vibe here and you can tell the effort that went into it. With the Bebel Gilberto -> Reed -> Lamb trio, you have 3 of my favourite songs right there, and the positioning of the Leftfield is great. The John Martyn was a great choice!
