Tongue
Comment:
This one is kind of a continuation of The Feelgood Factory concept except all the staff working this shift sing in a variety of foreign (at least to me) tongues. Among the languages on display are Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, French, Dutch, Welsh, Swedish and Russian. Its more a pop mix than a world music mix not that the two should be mutually exclusive. Thanks to Mixxer for tracks 16 & 19 and Orchid for 20. Folder contains separate tracks.Feedback:
Tasty
cool
Oh, this looks good! Resisting the urge to download this right now rather than to wait until I'm home, and only managing because my work computer is acting up today anyway. The track 7 and 8 sequence looks particularly excellent (Gorki! I'm quite obsessed with everything sung in Dutch anyway, and Gorki are one of the few bands that I'd even dare to defend on musical grounds) The guy doing track 18 is called Andreas Dorau (without the s), by the way.
and by track 18, I mean track 20, clearly. Sorry!
Danke ofthaltned, now fixed.
been drawn to music in non-English languages lately, and you've put together a wonderful dose! I'll be listening this afternoon. ps. that tongue is scary. looks like something from the 1988 remake of The Blob.
Sweet.
Great world tour.That lady needs a tongue-scraper.
update: I am officially stupid and pointed out a mistake that wasn't a mistake at all. The guy is still named Andreas Dorau, but his pen name for that track is, in fact, Andreas Doraus. Yay me! Anyway, did I mention that that's a great mix? Didn't even notice the inclusion of Los Planetas first time around, awesome.
Luke - That's Barry's Tongue transplanted me reckons!
A lot of unknowns here (usually a good thing). It shall accompany me to work in the morning - looking forward to it!

Wow. This will be enlightening. I know 'Fred Vom Jupiter' through Orchid's recent and I've heard of t.A.T.u ( go figure ) but the rest looks, erm, foreign to me. Can't wait to hear.

Don't know a lick of this but I'll soon rectify that.
Looks terrific Barry. Unfortunately I don't know much except the two that I chipped in (and you are most welcome) but that will be rectified shortly.
To settle that long standing question, the way to recognize "World Music" is if the song titles have sćtd±тS. So clearly this must be World Music. Great work.

glad to see something from my homeland, though they aren't by far my fave artists, btw track 17 is by nacha pop, and ti (reflejo de ti, por ti) has no accent
I know, I'm picky, but the mix is certainly cool

Wow! The looks of this mix has got me toungue-tied. Props for the Nosotrash, La Casa Azul and Lemercier.
Tasty! (Damn that French Connection. He's always shootin' off early.)
There's some wondrous stuff here, mate. Nice work. I'm liking the Gorki track right now, in particular.
pardon my ignorance but I know zilch here.

You, my friend, constantly astonish me! This looks really great from start to finish - hooray for Los Planetas, and while I've never heard EBTG do Corcovado, I'm really looking forward to doing so. Well done!
I am a man flailing, no railing, no sailing -- hey, whatever I'm doing, you're doin' it better. And they say the devil has all the best tunes...you've got some explaining to do.
This is really fantastic, Barry! It got buried on my hard drive for, wow, a year. So glad I found it. Thanks.
