Comment:

I belong to an "intentional community" at my seminary. This means that a group of people with similar political views, social justice passions, senses of humor, and love of cooking decided to get together for dinner, wine and conversation once a week. It's been a huge support to me, and members of this community have become my dear friends. Originally, we met to watch "West Wing", and even named our group after that show, but when the show ended, we kept the name. The conversations had long since eclipsed the TV, anyway.

I made this mix for my friends. All the songs remind me of us, in one way or another. The Neko Case track is for two members of the group who moved to Kansas City last summer. This mix is a tribute to friendships shaped by liberal politics and inclusive faith. Plus beer.
