THE Bomb
Love it!
I'd love to hear this. It looks fantastic.
This looks wonderful and great fun.
So YOU put the Bam in the Bamma-Lamma-Ding-Dong!
I'm in awe of how fun this looks.
What? No bama lama ding dong? Excellent never the less. Thanks.
Just looking at this makes me want to jump for joy!
Great Mogly-Ogly, Joey. This puts the doo-waa-diddy-diddy in the old sh-boom!
Looks truly wonderful!
32 slices of heaven. If you fancy indulging in round 2 of the Trading Game this would delight me more than words can say. So I'll just say Yacka Hoom Boom Eeda Weeda Bug Rink a Dink I Do Bum Bum Hup Doo Waddy Waddy. Howzat?
What, were "Rama Lama Ding Dong" and "Who Put the Bomp" too obvious? ;) I always wanted to do a mix celebrating the wacky-sound-making songs of the '60s, but I never knew enough of them to fill out a whole CD. Now I'm gonna have to track down every last one of these, which won't be easy....but'll surely be worth it. Thanks for the leads and bravo on the excellent compilation!
My spellcheck hates this mix, but I love it! A no nonsense mix full of nonsense songs. Shab a lab a doo hay hey!
Papa-Oo-Mow-Mow!
Binga banga DING! This is awesome. Beyone awesome. This, in fact, is EXACTLY what I want to hear at a house party after about 2am when I'm a bit drunk and want to dance about like a fool. Would love a copy if you got 'em!
Great collection, looks like a lot of fun. Whi signed the image, and who is on it?
joey, you're always lookin' for a FUN TIME!!! (and forcing us to come along for the ride makes us all smile.) Bravo!
C'est superbe!
** ANSWER ** to lanhamyodel's trivia question:
That cover image is of the original Ink Spots, from way way back in the mid-30's.
(I always try to tell people who disdain the Ink Spots that their 30's incarnation bears the same relation to their late-career lineup as say, Jefferson Airplane does to Jefferson Starship, but I still get blank looks - maybe I need another analogy for late-career decline?)
ANYWAY . . . the autograph looks to me like probably it's from Orville "Hoppy" Jones but I can't quite make out what it says - "to my best only pal", maybe??
Deek Watson was another of the original Ink spots & he's also represented here with his own group the Brown Dots on "Bow Wow Wow".
More than you wanted to know?

This looks flipping fantastic.
Stonking!
Thanks for givin us some of this imaginative music; the only thing that would make this mix better would be to have it be downloadable...
Dang a dang dang ding a dong ding! Where's the link?!?
Hot dog dooly wah! Guess what I found in my mailbox this afternoon? You rock, Mr. De Vivre.
Gawd I love this mix. You know I love the food songs and Chinesish and Japanesish songs, but they are all fantastic for my end of the year commutaworkaganza. Hey, did you happen to get that anti-folk mix between me and Barry? Let me know if you wanna hard copy...
went out of town for a few days and when I got back to work, I found a fancy little package on my chair. the 'thdthdthdthdthdthdthd-Bop! thdthdthdthdthdthdthd-Bop!' fluttering tongue manoeuver of track one put a grin on my face that stayed there to the end. The Quinns track is also a standout, though this whole thing is a bunch of fun. thanks so much! and by the way, I for one happen to love the Ink Spots' music of the '30s & '40s.
