Comment:

The AOTM party line is busy! Call me a phoney if you will, but this mix borrows heavily from two excellent earlier telephone-themed mixes,
Franklin Onn's Hello?
and Lancelot Link's Off the Hook
, this iteration being about 1/3 Franklin, 1/3 Lancelot, & 1/3 mine.
Doesn't that just make you want to add in some of your own favorite phone songs & dial up a 4th generation version?

Sorry, download-hounds, I'm still too techno-lazy to build a compressed version for linkage,
but the old-fashioned CD is available for trading the old-fashioned way in case you do want to roll your own . . .

P.S. (next day) Somehow, I overlooked yet another mighty good collection of telephone tunes:
lobsterboy's Grab Your Telephone ,
which amazingly hardly overlaps at all with any of the others!

This one rings my bells! You even have the original "Hangin on the Telephone."
Any chance you'd care to trade for a copy of Internet Protocol.?

A fun and funky mix, indeed. Pigmeat Markham and Richard Thompson, together at last! I'm up for a trade.

Nothing phone-y about this mix! (has anyone used that one yet?) Seriously, this mix has a nice ring to it. All kidding aside, you must have been busy putting this fine mix together.

Great stuff. Love the look of this AND the others you've noted. Can't believe there have been 4 mixes about telephones and not a single inclusion of Penguin Cafe Orchestra's Telephone and Rubber Band (which uses dial-tone to melodic and rhythmic delight). Fear not, I only mention this cause I added to a forthcoming mixed-genre. (small world)

I guess I should chime in. I offer my ringing endorsement. This is not a phoney mix; it needs no embellishment. It really pushes my buttons. And I'm not just handing you a line, man.

Excellent! (Now I have a cross between "20th Century Boy", from Dom's mix and "606 0842" from yours ringing in my head.)

Great comment from Franklin Onn12. Fine mix, a theme well & truly nailed. By the way received your 'Skoochie Skoochie' mix through the post yesterday & am about to give it a listen. Cheers J. Expect an email very soon...
