Comment:

something fun to whet your appetites as i diligently work away at the next get fresh flow disc, which is well on its way. a couple notes: i'm not quite sure if elliott smith can be considered part of the "dead rockers society," but he's dead & he played guitar & sang, which is good enough for me. also, "pink moon" is supposed to -- in my eyes, anyway -- represent the entire album, as that's the album i would choose to listen to under such circumstances; although it's not my favorite song on the album, i felt the title track would best respresent it. & yes billy joel is an extremely guilty pleasure (give me a break, i grew up on him), & yes i loathe u2 with an unbridled passion, but can't help but feel a bit affectionate towards that song.

that's all.

1. A song from the last record you bought.
2. A blues: not necessarily a blues record but a song that is labeled (something) blues.
3. A song that gets you going in the morning.
4. A song that you think is romantic.
5. One of the earliest records that you can remember listening to.
6. A song that you discovered from a film.
7. A song from your favorite band / artist.
8. A song from an artist / band that you otherwise don't like, but like this one.
9. A lullaby.
10. A song that makes you laugh / you find funny.
11. A really good cover version.
12. A song that reminds you of school days.
13. A song from an artist that you are embarrassed to admit you like.
14. Whatever it is, it's got to be funky.
15. A song for those quiet rainy days.
16. A song that no matter when you hear it makes you "Feel-good."
17. A song with the word "Look" in the title.
18. From a member of the "Dead rockers society."
19. Your favorite Elvis song.
20. Wildcard -- Hey, just put any song you like on!

Ditto on XYZ.I am a firm believer that one should never, under any circumstances, apologize for one's tastes. If you should wisk, a casual perusal of my mixes will show that I mean that. :)

These "Frankenstein" mixes just get better and better. This is flawless. Extra merits for that Herman's Hermits tune -- oh the memories.

Yeahhhhh another Elliott Smith non believer, Sorry Ant I needed to get that of my chest THE most overrated singer/songwriter I have ever heard. Needle in the Hay and Ballad of Big Nothing are the only songs that don't make me gag.

What a collection. It's not often I disagree with Barry but on the 'Elliot Front' ( that sonds like a film ) I do. Great choices by Common, Dylan & Rufus. It's great to see 2 of the finest bands of all next to each other, tks 9 & 10. But it's the 15-20 stretch that confirms this mix as a classic. Fine stuff...
Btw has Bono found what he was looking for yet? A sense of humour. Ho ho..

I'm with you on the Elvis one. Great choices in the other categories. Can anyone submit a Frankenstein mix abiding to the rules you've posted?

These are always so neat looking. And there is always this K-tel feel about the track listings, which is never a bad thing. Well done.
