Comment:
The Valisian Psycle: Volume One.The Valisian Psycle: An ongoing series of mixes inspired by (and in Tribute to) Valis; a means of saying "thank you" for his tireless promotion of present-day psychedelic music and for the numerous psychedelic publication recommendations he has made during the time I have come to know him.
One such recommendation, many moons ago, was Lysergia.
And, as the planets have aligned, to commemorate their soon-to-be-available publication, Acid Archives , I thought it fitting to kick off the series by posting this: a triple disc mix which utilizes 39 tracks from their list of 50 Psychedelic Favorites.
And, to pass on what has been given so freely to me, allow me to recommend, in earnest, both this incredible website, but also their book:
Acid Archives
"... A Guide to Underground Sounds 1965-1982; by Patrick Lundborg with Aaron Milenski & Ron Moore. [first printing of this book is now sold out, will be reprinted in Dec/06] This is the book version of the popular and highly renowned Acid Archives web site (www.lysergia.com/AcidArchives) -- the #1 internet resource for information and reviews of rare, obscure and unknown LPs from the USA and Canada 1965-1982. This book version adds hundreds of albums and reviews not listed on the web, as well as lots of images, rare band photos and LP sleeves. The book also features release details and in-depth exclusive reviews for more than 4,000 obscure LPs, including newly overhauled reissue data and value ratings. The main genres are psychedelia, garage, folk & folkrock, hippie rock, progressive rock, and hard-rock, with also a wide selection of interesting and rare singer-songwriter, harmony pop, soft rock, lounge-rock, avant-garde, vanity-pressings and "outsider" albums. This is the first ever comprehensive guide to the vintage musical underground of North America, and opens up a gigantic field of outstanding music that has earlier been exclusive and hard to grasp. Also included is a buyer's guide, a glossary, historical backgrounds, fun Top 10 lists, and much more. 298 pages, perfect-bound quarto with a sturdy full-color soft-cover, and a foreword by Mike Stax of Ugly Things magazine."
Download Links Available Upon Request. Note: As many of these source recordings are only available in VERY limited quantities, sound quality will vary. Equilization adjustments have been made and like-sounding tracks have been paired to ease the listener through transitions. But, some noticable sound artifacts still exist.

Feedback:
Stunning. Link me up baby!
My goodness me. Looks just amazing. Too many to single out but I have to give you applause for the Electric Prunes inclusion! Sadly there's too much here that I don't know as well - back to the psychedelia classroom for me :)
Yeah, I'd def like to listen to all three sides of this. Looks ridiculously amazing.
well this certainly looks interesting
Always impressive, sir.
That Zerfas album is terrific. And how did I learn about it? There can only be one answer.
Great mix gnome.
mind blowing!
Turn on, tune in, tune in, turn on, & turn turn turn . . .
& worthy of valis!!!
& worthy of valis!!!
Good Golly! This is a genre I know NOTHING about, but I'm sure it's up to your impecible standards!
Awe inspiring, indeed. It does look like a Valis mix, so high praise indeed.
what Salman said, ridiculously amazing.
Yes, this is an amazing collection. Thanks for the Lysergia and acid archives links. Would love to hear this.
Cosmic cornucopia of triptastic tunes. Feed me please!
WOW. I am dying to hear this.
This is gorgeous, and well worthy of Valis, who's always on the bus.
Wonderful, wonderful collection Chris. Probably know about a third of this. "Can't wait to hear it in full" he says with a little presumption!
A most worthy mix dedicated to a most worthy subject. And like Sir Valis's mixes, I only know a few cuts above, but I'd swear on a Stax of Bibles that this acidic creation is a mind blower.
I'd love to hear this, too, to deepen my musical education.
I bow to you. A favorite genre of mine and I know FEW of these!
'Gnome...
To say I'm honored would be to understate, by a large degree, my deep appreciation for this most triumpahnt triumvirate of magical discs. Humbled, too. Thank you! A lot! (((Can't wait to hear 'em.)))

Jeff Lewis told me to check out Father Yod and the Ya Ho Wa 13... I just downloaded a couple tracks off the anthology recordings website...pretty cool! He also recommended Exuma - know of him? BTW, great mix.
