Comment:
2006. I'm not saying these are the best songs of the year, but, they are some of my favourites. Although by the end of the year i'll have discovered things i'd have put on this.Feedback:
Amos Lee, Bob Dylan, Guillemots, Essex Green and The Hold Steady all had great cds/songs that I have enjoyed this year.
I agree with a lot of your picks this year! Esp. Midlake, Camera Obscura and the Essex Green... AND the Yo La Tengo.
Nice picks! Especially appreciate the CSS, Daniel Wylie and Camera Obscura (what a great song). I also think that Yo La Tengo should get the prize for best album title of the year. I have to say, I really tried not to like the Amy Winehouse song as I don't like her as a general rule...BUT I COULDN'T HELP IT! :) A good year, overall.
Very, very good, my friend. I especially dig the Dylan, Essex Green and Hold Steady tracks. That Jansch song is no slouch, either.
Oh yeah, I also really, really like that Dirty Pretty Things track and that band in general.
The Dylan, Guillemots, Css and the 13-16 stretch are highlights for me. My top 2 though are the Camera Obscura & Amy Winehouse tracks. Love them...
Scratching my head at a few John. Dunno 1 & 8 but a tidy gathering nonetheless. Albums like Van Occupanther don't happen every year thats for sure
Whoop-de-do! Pretty good choices all round. Nice to see the Dylan track; and Charlotte Gainsbourg carrying on the family tradition. Good luck with the ongoing discovery process.
Likin' everything here John cept for one artist & you know who he is don't you?
Clean your ears out Cliff;-))
