Comment:

Ahhh the Elephant 6 mix. It occured to me last week that I have never made one, ever. I felt that this should be corrected so I took descisive action and put this together over the last few days. Nothing more to say except happy holidays to each and every one of you. Happy 2007 AotM.

I've never made one of these, ever, either. Nor will I need to, as this looks pretty definitive.

What a marvellously comprehensive label love-in this is, young Barry. Quite unexpected and yet most appropriate. I crave a link, but that's just typical of me -- greedy bastard that I am. A very happy hoo-ha to you and thanks very much for an excellent, mixtastic year -- insert the clink of raised glasses here...

Aha. I was going to compile an Elephant 6 mix months ago but never got round to it. Won't need to now. Just look at the bands on display. Tip-top, make no mistake.
Have a great Xmas my friend...

Beautiful tribute to a great record label. I really need to dig a little deeper into the Elephant 6 library one of these days, and this looks like the impetus that I need.

Thank you, Mr. Claus! I haven't heard a good third of these bands.

i'm not a huge elephant 6 fan, i must admit, however there are some bands i really enjoy -- notably NMH, who are one of my all-time top 5 favorite bands, & whose album "in the aeroplane over the sea" retains the seat for my number one all-time favorite album -- period. no other band on the label has captured my imagination so much, but i rather enjoy beulah, apples in stereo, & scattered artists throughout. looks like a great summary though...

Here's an idea, mate - why don't you start a "collective"? I have a feeling that Apples in Stereo, Essex Green, OTC and NMH would defect over your way tout de suite.

Happy 2007!

Loving this - as so many of your contributions over 2006 (since I jumped into AotM properly, anyway, which was March or thereabouts!) Wishing you a happy and productive 2007!

Virtually impossible to make an E6 comp' and have it turn out badly. This is a pretty good look at what they're "all about." Great go Barrydali!

Wow! Too awesome for words. This gives me the inspiration to make an Elephant 6 mix of my own but how could I top this. So many terrific artists, so many well-chosen songs. You even got Casper and the Cookies in there - are you Jesus? Are you? 'Cuz no one else seems to routinely perform as miraculously as you, sir. Good good stuff. Happy new year :)

Very, very, very cool. I've kind of moved away from the E6 vibe over the past couple of years, but this looks like a great selection.

LOVE THIS COLLECTIVE! I was even rocking my E6 t-shirt for new years. Anyway, haven't really been digging the stuff coming out lately (Elf Power, Essex Green and Of Montreal put me to sleep), but nothing can beat Those albums released up until 1999... bloody amazing. You've hit upon a lot of my favourites, and the only omission I see is the exclusion of A Hawk and a Hacksaw. Still, tremendous mix!

Ahhh damn, I was going to do this collective as part of my current series but this looks better than anything I could conceive! Too bad its no longer available for download. Your mixes are amazing!
